Meet Morgan Johnston, MA, MT-BC - Clinical Mental Health Counselor and Music Therapist

Hello and welcome! I’m Morgan Johnston, a Clinical Mental Health Counselor with a Specialization in Music Therapy from Lesley University. My passion is helping individuals discover their authentic selves through a unique blend of traditional and expressive arts therapies, including music, art, movement, and writing. I’m excited to work with you to explore and overcome the challenges you’re facing.

Education and Expertise

I hold a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a Specialization in Music Therapy from Lesley University. My diverse professional background includes working with individuals in substance abuse centers, special education classrooms, memory care units, and supporting young adults in college and the LGBTQ+ community in partial hospital settings. This varied experience has given me a deep understanding of the unique challenges faced by different populations and the therapeutic techniques that can best support them.

Therapeutic Approach

I believe in a humanistic, collaborative approach to therapy, where our work together is a partnership aimed at empowering you to find your own voice. Just as I found my own voice through singing and songwriting, I’m committed to helping you discover your personal emotional language. My sessions often incorporate expressive arts therapies alongside traditional talk therapy, allowing you to explore your emotions in a creative and meaningful way.

With a blend of warmth, humor, depth, and understanding, I strive to create a safe and supportive environment where you can feel truly seen and heard. Whether through music, movement, or mindful conversation, I’m here to help you navigate life’s challenges and move towards a more authentic and fulfilling version of yourself.

Let's Chip Away Together

Inspired by Michelangelo’s belief that the sculpture already exists within the block of stone, my role is to help you chip away at the obstacles holding you back, revealing the true self that lies within. Let’s work together to uncover your strengths, heal from past wounds, and embrace your unique journey.
